Neurofeedback for ADHD in Children: A Scottsdale Family’s Story of Finding the Right Fit

Transcription:

“My son is a six-year-old, and he’s in the first grade, and his teacher was noticing a lot of aggressive behaviors on the playground, inability to stay calm. He was really advanced in his schooling, but his relationship with his peers was just getting him into trouble to the point where he was having to be separated from everyone. It was impacting his self-esteem, and it was impacting how he made relationships with his peers. He started to say, “People don’t like me.” It was so shocking, so he began to really withdraw.

I visited another center and I felt really rushed and forced to make a decision without a lot of information. But it was night and day different — Dr. Petta really took her time with my phone call. I had a million questions and you answered all of them. I never felt like we were a burden or this was too much. We felt like you were caring as much about the needs of our family as we were, and not just seeing us as another potential client.

Your care towards children was also really important to us. We had taken our son to the other appointment — the practitioner was redirecting him constantly and not really making room for behaviors that a normal six-year-old would have. It didn’t feel like an environment where our son could relax. It just kind of felt uninviting for a child. Here, you guys make an effort to know him and to really help him in more ways than just “let’s get this task done.”

We couldn’t imagine making other choices, always having this “what if” in mind. Dr. Petta, you gave us the confidence to do that. I’m so thankful that we did — and just to see how the staff really do care for kids, and don’t just see them as an annoyance or a client or just a number, but they really truly care.”

Why Choose Arizona Center for Neurofeedback for ADHD Treatment for Children

When a child struggles with focus, impulsivity, or emotional outbursts at school, it can feel impossible to know where to turn. At the Arizona Center for Neurofeedback, we hear this story often: bright, capable kids whose behavior gets in the way of their friendships and their confidence.

Every treatment plan begins with a QEEG Brain Map, a diagnostic tool that shows us exactly where a child’s brain activity may be contributing to symptoms like impulsivity, inattention, or difficulty with emotional regulation. Rather than guessing at a generic protocol, we use this data to build a Neurofeedback training plan customized to each child’s unique brain patterns.

If your child’s school struggles, peer relationships, or emotional regulation have you searching for answers, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to guess your way through it.
